Easter 2009

He is Risen!!  He is Risen, Indeed!!

The congregation enjoyed the delicious breakfast!

The Youth and their leaders served up a hearty breakfast to the worshipers.

The congregation waited patiently in line for the opportunity to enjoy breakfast.

The Grace Senior Youth welcomed the congregation to the Easter Breakfast!"

Cynthia Hahn leads the Grace handbell choir in an Easter Anthem.

During the Hymn of Praise, the children are invited to come forward and place their butterfly on the cross.

The Butterfly

Symbol of the Resurrection and Eternal Life

The butterfly is a beautiful form coming from the lifeless chrysalis.
This symbolizes Christ's victory over death and the grave.

It also symbolizes the believer's victory in Christ.

As the butterfly leaves the pupa and soars upward with a new body,
so through Jesus Christ are Christians borne to a new life.
The larva is man's condition on earth; the chrysalis is man in the grave;
and the butterfly is man in Christ triumphant over death.

Pastor Jacobs welcomed everyone to worship and explained the Butterfly tradition.

The congregation gathered to worship at sunrise service.
